We always say the earlier, the better! Given the current global pandemic that we're experiencing, we've had to accommodate for a lot of postponements and events rebooked to the following year, meaning two years worth of work is crammed into the one. Whilst we'd love to say yes to everyone, it's just not realistic. Once provided a quote, it is the client's responsibility to follow up, don't be disheartened because you let it go too long to receive an email from us later to say, unfortunately, we were booked.

The design process can take anywhere from 1 week to 6 weeks to complete. After this, we then go into print production, which can take up to 2 weeks. Things like stock availability, current workload and peak season can prolong the order.

Design and Services.

Of course! Whilst we offer in house digital printing and use local companies for print finishes, we are happy to design your stationery and provide print-ready files for you to use.

Whilst we create a lot of event stationery, the team at MBJ are all fully qualified graphic designers meaning we can design business branding and most importantly, it's one of our favourite things to do!

We have made it easy for you! Check out our design process page.

Both! We feel its best to offer both options for our clients. Certain signs can't be hired, like seating charts, as they are all printed onto your chosen material. Visit our [hire page][5] to see our options available!

This is based on how many families, couples or individual guests are invited. To be clear, not the total number of guests invited. If you're unsure, we can help determine the required amount.

Types of finishings.

Hot foil pressing is somewhat similar to letterpress as metal plates and pressure are used to stamp into the paper. However, in this form of printing metal dies are used with heat, pressure and coloured foils to create an impression into paper. Foil colours range from gold, silver, rose-gold, copper, black, white and various others.

Digital foil doesn't require metal printing plates to provide a metallic finish instead, black ink is used along with heat where the foil sticks to the ink. Digital foil is suitable for small print runs, but the results aren't as perfect & crisp as foil pressing. You're restricted to certain papers, and at times it can leave small black dots where the foil hasn't adhered to the ink.

Letterpress is one of the oldest forms of printing, dating back to the 15th century. Using ink and a pressing plate, it leaves gorgeous impressions in paper and various other forms of mediums. It portrays a unique and handcrafted form of printing that can't be matched to any digital printer.

Debossing is produced by pressing plates into the paper to leave an impression similar to that of embossing, think of it as the opposite creating a depressed effect. Just like embossing, you can choose to add ink, foil or untouched.

Too many to list! We use local paper companies such as Ball and Doggett as well as companies from interstate like Peterkin. To view the papers we have in stock, click here.

Appointments and Visiting us.

Yes, visit our contact page to see where we are located. We ask you to book an appointment to do so as our studio days vary from week to week.

Of course! We love to meet in person to discuss your designs; however, we understand it is not for everyone, so we offer quotations via email, providing we have enough information.

Definitely! We'd hate for you to come and were not there, or in another consult with a client or don't have the time to sit down & chat all things design with you. We don't like to rush our consults, so always send us an email to book in.
